Abstract | El artículo tiene el objetivo de analizar la estructura del sistema radiodifusor de Puerto Rico. La descripción aborda cómo se configura este sector desde el punto de vista de la propiedad (pública/privada), de la programación ... El artículo tiene el objetivo de analizar la estructura del sistema radiodifusor de Puerto Rico. La descripción aborda cómo se configura este sector desde el punto de vista de la propiedad (pública/privada), de la programación (generalistas, musicales, públicas y religiosas), de la banda a través de la que emiten (Onda Media/Frecuencia Modulada), del área geográfica donde están situadas las frecuencias (San Juan, Ponce y Mayagüez) y de la audiencia. El trabajo pone de manifiesto las especiales características de la radio puertorriqueña en la que las emisoras musicales adquieren una especial relevancia, aunque sin olvidar el auge que han tenido en los últimos años las religiosas. Todo ello combinado con una escasa presencia de redes públicas y con unas emisoras generalistas localizadas en la Onda Media. The aim of this article is to analyse the structure of the radio broadcasting system in Puerto Rico. The work describes the configuration of this field, from a point of view of property (public vs. private media), contents ... The aim of this article is to analyse the structure of the radio broadcasting system in Puerto Rico. The work describes the configuration of this field, from a point of view of property (public vs. private media), contents (conventional, musical, public and religious stations), band in which they are broadcasted (Medium Wave and Modulated Frequency), geographic area where they are located (San Juan, Ponce and Mayagüez) and their audience. The article states the special characteristics of the Puerto Rican radio landscape, where the musical stations play a very relevant role, along with the increasing presence of the religious ones since recent years. In the background, the public networks, that have little prominence, and the conventional radio stations, that broadcast in the Medium Wave. |
