It is not frequent to find public or private initiatives with enough feeling and firmness as to include a concern for acoustics in their projects with regard to public indoor spaces (in general for sports facilities). In most cases it can be found, unfortunately, a very deficient acoustic performance, thus generating an uncomfortable ambience for the occupants who finally accept it as inherent in those spaces. Within this framework the project for an indoor velodrome in Dos Hermanas (Seville, Spain) is included. Architects Félix Escrig and José Sánchez, authors of the project, proposed us a initiative as introduced in this text: to include an acoustic analysys of the project, as well as the implementation of correcting measures. The most significant aspects of the acoustic study are presented here. EAA Symposium. Expoacústica 2003. |
