This Final Project aims to understand the CIS (Sociological Research Centre), its barometers and also to generate reports using the free language software R from the data provided by the CIS. To meet these objectives, this work has been arranged into four chapters. In the first we will tour the CIS: its origin, structure, objectives, research, own resources, the entities with which it collaborates and the information and tools available to users through its website. In Chapter 2, we will focus on understanding the barometers, one of its different types of case studies and possibly the best known and currently most referred to due to the political, economic and social situation in which we find ourselves. We will analyze in depth how, when, why and what, as well as its influence and scope in the different sections that comprise it. Then we turn to the third chapter in which we will study in depth the latest barometer published in April 2016, and through each of the results, understand how it is formed and what its main characteristics are. The results published by the CIS are shown in tabular and graphical form. Finally, in the fourth chapter and using the language code R developed in this work, data will be able to be imported from any CIS barometer and with the help of some software packages the April barometer will be analyzed. Each of the steps required to perform this analysis will be described in detail. The new graphics and tables obtained and the R code used will be displayed and also compared with those presented in the previous chapter. |
