Abstract | Las cianobacterias constituyen el único grupo de organismos procariotas capaz de llevar a cabo una fotosíntesis oxigénica similar a la que realizan las plantas superiores (Blankenship, 1992; Stanier y Cohen-Bazire, 1977), ... Las cianobacterias constituyen el único grupo de organismos procariotas capaz de llevar a cabo una fotosíntesis oxigénica similar a la que realizan las plantas superiores (Blankenship, 1992; Stanier y Cohen-Bazire, 1977), ya que poseen aparatos fotosintéticos situados en membranas tilacoidales y dos fotosistemas similares a los localizados en los cloroplastos. Se diferencia en que, excepto en proclorofitas, las cianobacterias carecen de clorofila b (Morden y Golden, 19919 y presentan pigmentos antena alternativos denominados ficobiliproteínas (Sherman et al., 1987).| |
