Thanks to the Internet the term democracy transcends the field of political philosophy to become a communication concept that allows users to participate actively in achieving social change. The bidirectional order imposing by social networks has enabled that one Spanish grandparents’ group, the yayoflautas, encountered in the Web 2.0 a forum to continue fighting for social rights that are getting lost in Spain. The aim of this research attempts to analyse how the yayoflautas make use of social media in order to establish freedom’s spaces and democratic changes. The results show that the information not leaked, decentralized and not mediatized has converted 2.0 platforms into the best allied to communicative level. |
