This project arises from the need to research a new and innovative resource for aircraft manufacturing, which consists of using models to design the aircraft and its systems. In order to deepen model-based design and identify the possibilities of this method, the benefits of the Model Based Systems Engineering methodology will be analyzed. This task is not only necessary to increase knowledge and gain experience in the field, but also to make Airbus more competitive in the future and deliver its products with better quality, time and cost. These improvements are due to the fact that the modeling will be implemented in earlier stages of aircraft development, allowing the prior verification and validation of industrial means and aircraft systems, thanks to the associated functional tests. Since most aircrafts, systems and industrial means have already been developed at Airbus, reverse engineering will be employed. Therefore, the models to be developed are based on schematic and wiring diagrams that were previously designed. To achieve these objectives, the project focuses on the development of the electrical system model of an industrial mean, whose model-based design will be key for systems engineers in their daily work. In this way, special interest will be given to ELECAIM, the test mean of the C-295 aircraft. Afterwards, a new use case will be presented, known as RARO Console, of which only the results and conclusions obtained will be analysed. Finally, a set of solutions will be developed, which are common to all test means. |
