Abstract | La Casa de la Moneda de Sevilla, espacio en el cual se desarrolla este proyecto, es uno
de los conjuntos más singulares de la ciudad, que gracias a su capacidad de adaptación
ha podido transformarse a lo largo del tiempo ... La Casa de la Moneda de Sevilla, espacio en el cual se desarrolla este proyecto, es uno de los conjuntos más singulares de la ciudad, que gracias a su capacidad de adaptación ha podido transformarse a lo largo del tiempo conservando su identidad, y que, debido a su hermetismo, ha permanecido “oculta” respecto a la misma. El objeto de estudio de este trabajo será la fachada principal de la misma situada en calle Adolfo Rodríguez Jurado, números 3-7- Santander numero1. Situada en el límite sur de la ciudad histórica, se encuadra dentro del triángulo que formarían otros tres hitos de la ciudad: Archivo de Indias, Torre del Oro y la Puerta de Jerez. Pese a su importancia de otras épocas y a su privilegiada localización, nos encontramos en la actualidad con un espacio que no ha terminado de recuperarse del deterioro que ha sufrido a lo largo del siglo XX, especialmente en las últimas décadas. A pesar de ello, tiene un papel importante para la ciudad por su valor histórico y arquitectónico. Su recuperación se plantea como fundamental para restituir al centro de la ciudad una parte fundamental de su historia. |
