the breeding ground where certain artistic typologies ... Something that is usually attributed to the virtual museum is that its collections are conformed by simulacra. However, for more than two decades, the internet has been the breeding ground where certain artistic typologies have emerged like Net.art or VR Art. Even museums have begun to acquire some of these pieces. But perhaps the least studied art market is the one that has been generated in virtual platforms such as Second Life, where collectors invest real money to expand their own virtual collections. All this leads us to reflect on the future of collecting and the role these new media will have in shaping the future art market. Algo que se suele achacarse al museo virtual es que sus colecciones están conformadas por simulacros. Sin embargo, desde hace ya más de dos décadas, internet ha sido el caldo de cultivo donde han surgido determinadas ... Algo que se suele achacarse al museo virtual es que sus colecciones están conformadas por simulacros. Sin embargo, desde hace ya más de dos décadas, internet ha sido el caldo de cultivo donde han surgido determinadas tipologías artísticas desde el Net.art hasta el arte de Realidad Virtual . Algunos museos ya adquieren algunas de estas piezas. Pero quizá el mercado de arte menos estudiado es el que se ha generado en plataformas virtuales como Second Life donde existen coleccionistas que invierten dinero real para ampliar sus propias colecciones virtuales. Esto debe llevarnos a reflexionar sobre el futuro del coleccionismo cuando el arte virtual esté asentado y consolidado en el y qué papel tendrán estos nuevos medios en el mercado del arte. |
