The final volume change is path dependent in the swelling zone, but not in the collapse zone. Notwithstanding, for most of the wetting processes around foundations or in canals, a final state curve for every final suction value may be used. The equivalent oedometric moduli to be used for the use of elastic methods in these soils have been studied. |
