Several national reports have revealed the increase of victims of gender violence in teenage girls by their boyfriends or ex-boyfriends. However, there are other implicit forms of violence that take place in relationships before reaching extremes ofphysical or psychological violence. These implicit forms are the social constructions created around romantic love and ideal couple models duringadolescence. With this intervention program we intend to detect and analyze if adolescents continue to 5understand relationships and love as a synonym of jealousy, control, possession, domination and submission.A needs assessmenthas been carried out based on a survey of a sample of 85 students from the first cycle of Secondary Education, in addition to five members of the educational community of the I.E.S. Diamantino García Acosta (Seville, Spain).According to needs analysis carried out, in relation to the myths of romantic love, there are no significant differences between both sexes, however, with regard to the ideal couple models chosen by adolescents if there are slight significant differences between boys and girls. Both sexes have obtained very high averages and, therefore, high levels of internalization of these social constructions of love and ideal couple models. For this reason, a program of activities is carried out in order to offer students alternatives on models of love and healthier couples, based on egalitarian principles. |
