The objective of this paper is to study the effects of inhibitory and influencing factors on the behaviour intention and use of electronic banking in the case of the elderly. These factors are grouped into three categories: 1) personal interaction factors; 2) perceived risk factors; and 3) factors relating to the expected benefits. We show a positive effect of personal factors and those related to the desired benefits, while the factors associated with risk play an inhibiting role in the intention and use of the e-banking. We use a collected survey of 396 individuals over 60 years of age. The structural model was evaluated by PLS (Partial Least Squares) with an adequate global fit. The results allow identifying those factors that may favour or prejudice the process of acceptance and use of electronic banking in the elderly. |
