The Master’s Thesis presented here addresses the author’s need to help give visibility to the large number of genderbased murders that have occurred in Spain since 1999, when the General Assembly of the United Nations began to commemorate Violence against women. Our starting hypothesis is based on the fact that most of them are the cause of an uninformed and disinterested socio-political system, partly due to a lack of an effective educational system, which is the germ for moral disintegration. We intend to exhibit this moral decay by means of the art, basing our own art production on personal experiences from which to enggage viewers. Thus, with an activist approach to it, we also intend to provide, from the individual, an inductive study that encompasses an analysis of the environment. Starting from image and sound, we will map the already extinguished voices of those women, and we will review, among others, the theories of John Cage, Susan Philipsz and Mar Augé. |
