OBJECTIVE To review the existing literature of the last ten years about digital impressions for dental implants in order to establish in a comparative way the differences between conventional and digital technology SEARH METHODOLOGY AND MATERIAL A bibliographic search was performed in the PubMed database according to the selected keywords, according to the MSH terms and according to some selection criteria. RESULTS A total of 23 articles were found after applying the corresponding filters to carry out the results of this work. Finally, applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, the author read the articles and discussed them in order to do the work DISCUSSION Advantages of digital systems: flexibility, cost, reprint, reduce distortion of impressions and working times, simpler clinical learning curve, no problems storing prints, improves communication with the laboratory, Can print variable data and eliminate a large number of clinical and laboratory steps. Disadvantages require a learning curve, accuracy may be limited by certain parameters and the initial cost of acquiring one of these systems is relatively high. CONCLUSSION Digital impression is a valid, efficient and efficient procedure in addition to continuous technical progress. |
