The chasm S-6 is one of the most important cavities of the neolithic settlement of Veredilla (Benaocaz) so far investigated. It is a cave-chasm formed by three labyrinthine galleries some 400 ms long on whose surface nearly 1600 ceramic, lithic and bone items have been found. These materials belong to the three main periods in which the Andalusian Neolithic is currently divided and contribute to its chronological framing. Therefore, Veredilla appears as one of the most densely populated areas in the Neolithic among those discovered so far, with a wide and lasting community. |
