With the introduction of new Bachelor of Business Administration, in the context of the European Higher Education Area, we have carried out a teaching innovation project during the academic year 2009/2010, with a group of students from the course "Microeconomics" for the Degree of Business Administration at the University of Seville, the development and results are shown in this work. The project combines the introduction of the methodology of problem-based learning (PBL), with the tool interactive response controls, with the aim of increasing motivation, attendance and student participation, so they can improve their performance, encouraging the acquisition of general and cross-competencies and oral and written presentation skills, and the ability to work in groups. The results are measured on the basis of three learning parameters: attendance, academic performance and assessment of the new methodology. All the indicators considered in these three areas show statistically significant improvements. Furthermore, a growing interest in new teaching tools has also been generated among teachers of the course. |
