Las fuentes utilizadas ... En este estudio se trata de presentar la forma visible y variable que adoptó el conjunto de familias fundadoras del centro político administrativo de la ciudad de Santa Fe, en el litoral argentino. Las fuentes utilizadas son padrones, registro eclesiástico, testamentos, cesiones y escrituras, así como la relectura de los textos conocidos referidos a historia lugareña, local y regional. En qué momento y por qué normas se divide la propiedad para dotar a las hijas y no a los hijos?, es posible que una jefa de hogar lo sea por ausencia prolongada por cuánto tiempo del marido del hogar?, qué pasa con los divorcios, de los que existen mínimos registros, ya en la parroquia o en archivos civiles?, demasiadas preguntas sin respuesta por ahora, pero que toman relevancia cuando se analiza el proceso complejo de la mujer, con o sin respaldo jurídico, asumiendo la realidad de una jefatura de familia en el más amplio sentido del término.
