En este artículo el autor analiza la diferencia entre la forma progresiva y la forma simple (no progresiva) en inglés aplicando la teoría de 'susceptibilidad al cambio'. De acuerdo con ella, el uso de la forma progresiva implica una situación que de alguna forma es susceptible de cambiar, mientras que el uso de la forma no progresiva implica una situación que no es susceptible de cambiar. El autor analiza 23 casos distintos que cubren una amplia gama de situaciones y tiempos verbales, para comprobar si esta teoría funciona en la práctica. Junto a estas características aspectuales, en concreto la imperfectividad/perfectividad, también se consideran aspectos relacionados con Aktionsart, como puntualidad/duratividad, estatividad/no-estatividad y telicidad/atelicidad siguiendo los trabajos de eminentes teóricos como Hirtle, Comrie, Bertinetto y, especialmente, Declerck. |
