Introduction: Guided oral implantology has become a growing technique that offers great advantages in compromised situations where high precision and/or aesthetics are required. Aims: Present the advantages of the guided surgery technique over conventional surgery and to describe a protocol for guided oral surgery in the anterior section. Case report: A 54-year-old patient presented with extrusion, internal root resorption and bone loss up to the apex in 11. Exodontia, alveolar preservation and placement of a provisional supported on the adjacent teeth were performed. Once the tissues had healed, CBCT and virtual planning were performed for the placement of an implant in 11 using guided surgery with a tooth-supported surgical guide. The provisional was repositioned on the adjacent teeth and after 4 months the screw-retained provisionalisation of the implant was started in order to prepare the emergence profile. Finally, scanbody scanning was performed for aesthetic anti-rotational abutments and a layered zirconia crown was fabricated on a titanium interface. Conclusion: Guided oral implantology allows us to carry out detailed planning and digital simulation, providing advantages in the precision, aesthetics and postoperative period of implant treatments, especially in compromised areas such as the anterior sector. |
