This Master Thesis is focused on the study of the fatigue behavior of the post-tensioned reinforcement and the passive reinforcement of a slab type bridge for high speed trains. The specific structure is the E-11 viaduct project of the high speed line between Madrid and Extremadura between P.K. 12+227.477 and P.K. 12+303.477 over the CM-4009 road at Gerindote (Toledo). Bridges for high-speed trains are subjected to significant cyclic loads throughout the lifetime of the structure causing fatigue deterioration of its components. For the study, the bridge has been modeled by simplifying it into a bar model in Midas Civil software, maintaining: geometry, loads, materials and boundary conditions. The fatigue tests were performed on the most stressed reinforcement, so the first step consisted of locating the most unfavorable section of the bridge and focusing the study on the active and passive reinforcement that will undergo the greatest load increases. Once this section was known, the structure was subjected to the passage of each of the fatigue and dynamic trains specified in the Instruction on Acciones a Considerar en Puentes de Ferrocarril (IAPF-10). Finally, by means of the S-N Curve defined in point 6.8.4. of Annex 19 of the Código Estructural, the damage caused in the reinforcement by these stress increases has been evaluated in order to know if the damage is relevant during the 100 years of the service life of the structure. |
