En esta comunicación se realiza un estudio empírico de una serie temporal del IBEX-35, en el que se intenta determinar si la serie de diferencias logarítmicas estudiada presenta una estructura fractal utilizando el análisis R/S, creado por Hurst y popularizado por Mandelbrot y Peters, que es capaz de detectar la estructura fractal y la presencia de dependencia a largo plazo entre las observaciones, mediante el cálculo del exponente de Hurst, pues su valor permite distinguir entre un camino aleatorio (H=0.5) y un camino aleatorio sesgado (anti-persistente, 0<H<0.5, o persistente, 0.5<H<1). Al determinar si en la serie existe dependencia a largo plazo entre las observaciones, se estudia además la existencia y duración media de los ciclos no periódicos donde esta dependencia se pierde. |
