The current architectural landscape is clearly influenced by the principles of energy efficiency and occupant well-being. In this context, windows, as one of the most important elements in architectural design, holds great relevance, as its design can have a significant impact on these issues. When it comes to designing windows, there are multiple variables to consider, with size, proportion, position and orientation having a significant impact on energy consumption and access to natural light, as well as potentially affecting the health of occupants. Analysing how this set of variables influences allows for a relative quantification of benefits based on the conditions of the opening in the residential context, which is the main objective of this work. The aim is to provide a more comprehensive view of reality by complementing compositional design with technical criteria. |
