For Adorno, thinking is not to surrender to the current system of homogenization and integration. For Adorno, thinking is not to surrender to the current system of homogenization and integration. Rather, when it is a consciousness of individual pain, its very existence is a critical instrument. Adorno considers that the pain of the individual produced by the system of domination has been hidden and silenced by the Hegelian philosophy of identity, on the one hand, and by the culture industry, on the other. In contrast, Adorno believes that it is necessary to give it voice, because this consciousness, insofar as it is resistance, is the only utopian hope of salvation for the human being. This consciousness of pain turns his thought into an enlightenment of blood. This is how we should understand the politicization of pain. Authentic art and negative dialectics have the task of enabling us to carry out this politicization. |
