The feeling of unwanted loneliness is something that has always been intrinsically related to older people. As a result of the covid-19 pandemic, the spaces in which we live have been questioned and it has been understood that this feeling can be experienced by anyone. We must associate loneliness not with age but with a society with little solidarity. The way we design our cities and homes influences how we feel and can sometimes make people feel lonely. The lifestyle of contemporary cities contributes to dehumanization and individualism, and architecture and urban planning can help mitigate the problem of unwanted loneliness. Through the diagnosis of the elements that can generate this problem, it will try to find solutions to the feeling of loneliness and to regenerate the community spirit through architecture. |
