The main objective of this research work is to value and pay tribute to the work undertaken by women geologists who have taught and researched at the University of Seville. To this end, we have conducted a survey of women geologists who have taught in different decades. Taking into account that the data obtained have no statistical value due to the few responses we have had, we can draw the conclusion that the work undertaken by the female geologists who have taught and researched at the University of Seville has been valued by their colleagues; however, they have had more problematic impact when it comes to continue working or being promoted due to the fact of being a mother. Almost all the women surveyed consider that Earth Sciences do not receive the recognition they deserve in any of the educational stages in Spain, causing a great lack of knowledge in society about this subject. |
