Del pensamiento del fotógrafo a la experiencia estética. La Filosofía visual de Andreas Feininger

Abstract

En un tiempo como el actual, en que proliferan las imágenes con insólita celeridad y abundancia, la aproximación a la mente de un fotógrafo artista puede contribuir a recordar la existencia de un pensamiento, de una mirada animada por un espíritu concreto, tras las fotografías presentes como obras de arte en exposiciones y publicaciones. Igualmente, puede ayudar a ver como tales otras imágenes, las de cada uno, si se reconoce la existencia de una Filosofía de la fotografía, parangonable con la existente tras el resto de las Artes Visuales. Andreas Feininger ofrece con claridad la suya propia, y mediante ella puede establecerse un puente de aproximación a la orilla reflexiva también habitada por este joven Arte.

At a time like the present, when images proliferate with unusual speed and abundance, an approach to the mind of an artist photographer can help to recall the existence of a thought, of a gaze animated by a specific spirit, behind the photographs presented as works of art in exhibitions and publications. It can also help us to see other images as such, those of each individual, if we recognise the existence of a philosophy of photography, comparable to that which exists behind the other visual arts. Andreas Feininger clearly offers his own, and through it a bridge can be established to approach the reflective shore also inhabited by this young Art.
