The evolution of the agricultural industry and the current interest in mass production of food products with very low costs, has led to a situation of depression in the cultivation of vines and, on the contrary, the boom in the cultivation of olives. This research covers the Doñana National Park, which borders the municipality of Almonte. Once an environmental analysis of the agriculture of the area has been carried out, we focus on the importance of the traditional dry farming of the olive grove and with it the singular constructions destined to the production of oil, the oil mills. A patrimonial value of these mills in the town of Almonte and a study of them from the late sixteenth century to the present is made, providing a greater vision and analysis of the evolution of these buildings, and in turn, how they are reflected today in this urban fabric. |
