This final thesis arises from the interest that I have in the design, modelling and diagnosis of an aeronautical engine, for its subsequent application in the practical world. It will serve as useful help in the verification and revision of an engine, an essential practice when talking about the components of an aircraft. The main goal is, besides the modelling of the engine, the development of a digital tool that permits the diagnosis of an internal engine flaw or failure and the determination of its corresponding magnitude. This will mean to have the capability to detect the deterioration of an internal part of an engine without even comencing its revision process. First of all, we will carry out a preliminar study on its internal sensors, its principal characteristics and the modelling of its corresponding aircraft. Moreover, we will explain the used model for the correct calculation of the thermodynamic variables that are present in the study. The project will be written in a progressive way, each part constituting a key step in the construction of the work. This is why, in this specific order, we will explain the resolution of the point-design cycle, the development of machine reference maps and the resolution of the off design cycle. All of these stages constituting the digital modelling of the engine. Regarding the last part of the work, where the principal goal resides, we will attend to the input of the deterioration in the engine, the usage of the diagnosis tool and the statistical explorative analysis that will be done based on the results recorded and their precision. Due to the magnitude of study that is covered by the project, we have considered some simplifications and hypothesis, all of which have been justified and explained. Moreover, the statistical study only considered the evaluation of a single engine component, however we have analyzed the implications of this and the possible future refinings of the method. |
