One of the most common problems in the field of renewable energy is the storage of surplus energy produced during the start-up and operation of power plants. Sometimes, a high amount of energy is produced that is not demanded, generating irretrievable losses of energy. This project aims to evaluate the influence of temperature to design and analyze a sturdy foundation for energy storage tanks in solar thermal power plants. These tanks, subjected to temperatures of up to 600ºC, allow the storage of a material capable of accumulating the electrical energy produced in solar thermal power plants in the form of heat energy, storing it to be used in situations of lower production and higher demand. The study will focus on the analysis of current problems, the study of data and information on the variation of the properties of materials with temperature, and designing a foundation for solar salt storage tanks and evaluating their behavior. |
