The essay thoroughly explains the organizational structure of the National Socialist system of exploitation and extermination and its operation, until reaching the most vigorous expression of the extermination system: concentration camps. It analyzes how the implementation of this structure is rooted in the promotion of both individual and social terror. In the second part, it develops the basic ideologies of the German National Socialist system, exploring the main theories of dehumanization, questioning whether it is a logical prerequisite for mass violence and focusing on the animalization of the other, conceived as a threat, relating it to the organic metaphor of National Socialism as a doctor of the German body. It develops the idea of the Jewish people confronted by their lack of human soul with the German "National Community", or Volksgemeinschaft, for whose progress and perfection measures of eugenics and racial hygiene are taken. It analyzes the psychological consequences of dehumanization, from the perspective of perpetrators and victims, emphasizing the influence of situational factors, dwelling on the influence of propaganda, for the change in behavior of an individual. It defends the thesis that the complex structure built by the Nazis made concentration camps a concretion of the extermination system accepted by all, due in large part to the consequent moral disconnection of the influence of situational factors in National Socialist Germany, denying that direct or indirect perpetrators can be labeled monsters, sadists, or insane. Keywords: Nazis, National Socialism, philosophical foundations of National Socialism, concentration camps, dehumanization, animalization, organizational structure, Nazi politics, extermination, situational factors. |
