Análisis del impacto turístico de la organización de bodas en la zona del Caribe

Abstract

Los nuevos tipos de turismo surgidos en el siglo XXI a raíz del cambio de sociedad y la era digital, han llegado a transformar incluso el clásico concepto de contraer matrimonio. La industria turística de `bodas destino' está despegando a ritmos agigantados alrededor del mundo, siendo un mercado altamente lucrativo para los países receptores. El Caribe despunta como destino favorito de las parejas para celebrar su enlace, ya que cumple con los requisitos exigidos para la celebración del evento. Se alzan como destinos predilectos en la zona del Caribe los países de: México, República Dominicana y Jamaica. La presente investigación se centra en estos tres mercados, siendo el tema principal del trabajo, y enfocándose en comprender el impacto económico, social y turístico que presenta esta industria, en ocasiones muy poco estudiada e incluso devaluada por la sociedad pese a su alto potencial.

New types of tourism that have emerged in the 21st century as a result of the changing society and the digital age have transformed even the classic concept of getting married. The 'destination wedding' tourism industry is taking o at a rapid speed around the world and is a highly lucrative market for host countries. The Caribbean is emerging as a favorite destination for couples to celebrate their nuptials, as it meets the requirements for the celebration of the event. The most popular destinations in the Caribb ean are Mexico, Dominican Republic, and Jamaica. This research fo cuses on these three markets, being the main subject of the work, and fo cuses on understanding the economic, social, and tourism impact of this industry, which is sometimes little studied and even devalued by society despite its high potential.
