Prestaremos especial atención, por su importancia, a las traducciones de Canto a mí mismo, de Walt Whitman, y de Macbeth, de Shakespeare. This paper analyzes Castilian poet León Felipe's theory of translation, considering the scarce explicit statements on this matter which appear along his works, as well as the implicit principles which underlie his translating practice. We will pay a special attention to the translation of Walt Whitman's Song of Myself and Shakespeare's Macbeth. Both versions reveal a very original and controversial theory that sets a close connection between translation, tradition and the author's own literary works. |
