Heritage speakers are native speakers in which a differential acquisition process takes place. The most investigated scenario is that of Spanish heritage speakers in USA, who inherit this language from their relatives and limit its use to a few contexts. Consequently, many of them subscribe to SFL classes, and so they are a rising profile. This study analyzes the Spanish heritage speakers’ interlanguage compared to monolingual L2 students’ and a native speakers control group. To do so, we focus on Spanish prepositional verbs. Through a test, we analyze the use of these verbs regarding to production (with a fill-the-gaps task) and comprehension (with a written and oral judgment test). Our results show that differences exist between the three participant groups. Therefore, we confirm that heritage speakers constitute a differential profile with specific necessities |
