In recent years, there has been an increase in the volume of studies dealing with Ancient Greek adverbs, with regard to their use as focusers and their use as connectors of the linguistic message. The purpose of this doctoral tesis is to elaborate an exhaustive relationship, taking into account values and contexts, of the use of certain adverbs of focus in the work of Greek historian Xenophon. The study focuses on three aspects to characterize adverbs of focus: variable scope, sensitivity to focus, and variable position. The position of the adverb is analyzed in terms of precedence and adjacency, with reference to the narrow focus or the verb, if it is a broad focus, and the relevant data are extracted to make a final comparison of the different adverbs of focus studied. The final objective is to be able to identify whether the function of the focus adverb depends more on the position it occupies or on its scope. Therefore, this is a philological and linguistic research of Ancient Greek, written entirely in Spanish.es
