Los medios de comunicación públicos, incluidos los de carácter regional, se encuentran en una situación de crisis, con audiencias menguantes y una pérdida de credibilidad. Sin embargo, existen notables diferencias entre los servicios audiovisuales públicos en Europa, en función de sus sistemas mediáticos y culturas periodísticas. Por ello, esta investigación tiene como objetivo analizar de manera comparativa los modelos de participación implementados por medios públicos regionales que se circunscriben a tradiciones periodísticas contrapuestas: RTVA (Andalucía, España) y RBB (Berlín y Brandeburgo, Alemania). Se estudian los mecanismos desarrollados en estos dos medios, entendiendo la participación como una intervención amplia en los asuntos públicos. Los contenidos web y las acciones en redes sociales sirven como objeto de estudio, profundizando en las herramientas de participación que se presentan en cada uno de estos espacios. En un contexto de transformación digital, ambos medios se enfrentan al reto de conectar con las audiencias más jóvenes, impulsando un consumo audiovisual apoyado en la interactividad. El reto es que esta participación se desarrolle dentro del marco de servicio público, lo que indudablemente entronca con la noción de ética periodística. Como resultados, se aprecian divergencias en el valor asignado a las distintas plataformas. RTVA adolece de mecanismos de participación en su web y emplea las redes de manera pasiva, en comparación con el uso más personalizado de RBB, que también potencia espacios de discusión en su página corporativa. Por tanto, se confirma que los dos casos encaran el proceso de renovación condicionados por su contexto mediático. |
