La presente revisión se centra en el estudio de las uncinariasis zoonóticas adquiridas a través de mascotas que van a dar lugar a la presencia de un síndrome denominado Larva Migrans Cutánea (LMC). Esta parasitosis se caracteriza por la presencia de lesiones cutáneas pruriginosas, eritematosas y serpiginosas, que afecta a las zonas del cuerpo en contacto con el suelo contaminado por heces de animales infectados, como son los pies en gran medida. Aunque es un parasitismo cosmopolita tiene más prevalencia en zonas tropicales y subtropicales, más en concreto en zonas costeras de playa, donde existe humedad y arena seca, lo que favorece el desarrollo de las larvas filariformes. Se recaba información de 19 estudios, a nivel mundial, en los que se exponen diversos casos. Para analizarlos se elabora una tabla desglosada posteriormente para detallar datos epidemiológicos de nuestro interés. Como revelan los estudios analizados en esta revisión, el síndrome LMC se puede considerar como una enfermedad importada de zonas tropicales y subtropicales viéndose incrementada su incidencia debido a los movimientos migratorios y al turismo en países endémicos. Además, se observa un aumento de los casos autóctonos en países europeos relacionándose con el cambio climático y su repercusión en la supervivencia del parásito. En este presente estudio, se recalca la importancia de poner el enfoque en el control de las infecciones, intentando solventar el problema del infradiagnóstco existente en áreas endémicas y señalando a su vez, los principales factores de riesgo que pueden ayudar a la propagación de esta enfermedad parasitaria. |
