Triana : ¿hacia un barrio peatonal?

Abstract

Este proyecto de fin de grado gira en torno al tema de urbanismo y a la configuración del espacio público. Pretende aportar una respuesta que permita acompañar la transición y el cambio de modelo en materia de movilidad y de gestión de este espacio en la ciudad de Sevilla. Parte de una observación personal sobre la dificultad de atravesar en bicicleta una de las calles más emblemáticas de la ciudad, la calle Betis, y de la insuficiente conexión entre dos de sus tramos de carril bici más extendidos, el tramo “Pino Montano-Los Gordales” y el tramo “Ronda Norte-Puente de las Delicias”. Se utiliza esta observación como puerta de entrada y catalizador para la implantación de un modelo de movilidad más sostenible, regulando el tráfico automovilístico e iniciando una transición cada día más necesaria hacia una nueva concepción de la ciudad y de un espacio urbano más pacificado, limpio, inclusivo y sostenible. Siendo una operación urbanística compleja, la peatonalización y el cambio radical de la configuración de la movilidad, afectan profundamente la composición y la dinámica de una zona urbana. Por ello, se han estudiado los distintos efectos, sociales, ambientales y económicos que semejante actuación puede suponer, así como las características de la zona dela calle Betis y de su entorno, permitiendo una mejor comprensión de los distintos impactos que esta operación puede ocasionar, así como las formas de atenuar y mitigar sus posibles efectos negativos. Por ello se han estudiado las diferentes soluciones ofrecidas por distintas ciudades europeas siendo la ciudad de Pontevedra, el caso de estudio principal por su similitud y su proximidad geográfica. La elección del estilo del mobiliario urbano y los materiales que conforman el pavimento urbano, elemento clave en la configuración de un espacio, ha sido igualmente estudiada, siendo este último un tema muy polémico y objeto de numerosos debates entre distintos actores de la ciudad de Sevilla. En este trabajo de fin de grado se ha tratado de aportar una solución que permita conciliar comodidad e identidad histórica y cromática de la ciudad. Se ha aportado varios planos que permiten una mejor visualización y comprensión de las actuaciones llevadas a cabo, así como detalles técnicos que ilustran estas actuaciones en las distintas zonas de la calle Betis. Se aporta una respuesta a las cuestiones económicas, de forma que permite, combinada con el conjunto de elementos aportados en este trabajo de fin de grado, una mejor apreciación y valoración del tema abordado.

This project focuses on the relationship between urban planning and the configuration of the public area. It aims to provide an answer guiding the transition and the change in terms of the mobility and the management of the space in Seville.It begins with a personal remark on the difficulty of traversing on the bike one of the mostemblematic streets of the city, the Betis street. Then, it points out an insufficient connection between two of the city's most extended sections of the bike lane: “Pino Montano - LosGordales” and “Ronda Norte - Puente de las Delicias”. These observations serve as a gateway and catalyst for the implementation of a more sustainable mobility model. This model targetsthe regulation of car traffic and the initiation of an increasingly necessary transition towards anew conception of the city: a more peaceful, clean and inclusive urban space. Pedestrianisation, being a complex urban operation which drastically changes the configurationof the mobility, transforms the composition and the dynamics of a metropolitan areaprofoundly. For this reason, different aspects, namely social, environmental and economic,have been considered. Furthermore, the characteristics of the Betis street area have been thoroughly studied, allowing for a better understanding of different impacts, that this processmay cause, and mitigation of possible side effects. Benchmarking the experience in pedestrianisation from various European cities and their different solutions have been used as the examples and inspiration, where the city of Pontevedra has been the main object of a case study due to its similarity and geographical proximity. Another issue discussed in this project was the selection of the style of the street furniture and the materials that make up the urban pavement. These are the key elements in the arrangement of the space, which also influence the aesthetics of the area. In addition, the latter has been avery controversial topic and the subject of numerous debates between different actors in the city of Seville. In a word: this project presents a reasonable solution that allows reconciling comfort and the city's historical and chromatic identity. In addition, several plans, together with various technical details, have been provided as theaids to better visualise and explain discussed actions in different areas of the Betis street. Last but not least, the answer to the economic questions has been provided to support the appreciation and the assessment of the addressed topic.
