Kubrick y la transformación del cine americano. De Ben Hur a Star Wars. Una reinterpretación de la historia del cine a partir de 2001, una odisea del espacio.

Abstract

El estudio que aquí se revela ha tenido como principal objetivo, constatar y verificar la relevancia del filme, 2001, una odisea del espacio (Stanley Kubrick, 1968), no sólo por su notoriedad filmográfica, sino por establecerse como punto de giro y nexo entre el final de la era dorada y el comienzo del cine moderno del nuevo Hollywood industrial, centrado en cintas de efectos visuales espectaculares del género de la ciencia ficción y fantasía, que tiene a Star Wars (George Lucas, 1977) y su sagafranquicia, como mayor representante y modelo. En este sentido, se ha prestado especial atención en demostrar que el cine de Stanley Kubrick y su evolución, fue análoga e intervino crucialmente, en la transformación y nueva forma de representación de la cinematografía estadounidense de la era posmoderna.

The main objective of the present investigation was to study and verify the magnitude and relevance of 2001: A Space Odyssey (Stanley Kubrick, 1968), not only for its cinematographic quality, but also act as a turning point and nexus between the end of the Golden Age and the beginning of the contemporary cinema in the new commercial Hollywood, focused on science fiction and fantasy’s films with spectacular special effects, whose most representative and model film is Star Wars (George Lucas, 1977) and its saga-franchise. In this regard, special attention has been paid to show that Stanley Kubrick's cinema and its evolution, was analogous and crucially contributed to the metamorphosis and new form of representation of the United States cinematography in the postmodern era.
