12 September 1309 a contingent military Castilian, prepared and displaced from the siege of the city of Gibraltar by King Ferdinand IV and integrated basically by the municipal of the city of Seville and the noble of don García López, master of Calatrava, don Juan Núñez de Lara militia and even the Archbishop of Seville, don Fernando commanded tactical don Alfonso Pérez de Guzmán, conquered the Gibraltar square after a brief and hard siege. The gibraltareños moors after surrender the delivery of the fortress and the town with the King left all free and Frank for “beyond the sea”. A few months later, the 31 January 1310, Ferdinand IV granted also letter puebla to Gibraltar to three hundred should defend and repopulate the villa and its neighbours.
