This paper focus on the relationship among Rural Development Policy and female employement, and it has as main analytical framework the new rural dynamics in Europe. The ongoing research shows the discordant outcome of a well financed gender labour policy, which is unable to break down the gender inequality on rural areas. At the same time, this paper underlines the necessary adptation of this kind of programs to local culture and economy in order to increase their labour niches. This research has been carried out in rural areas of Andalusia (Spain), three study cases has been selected as the most representative of the two main tendencies. The first case shows a relative failure consequence of disconnection between local reality and gender initiatives. The second and the third cases represent successful intervention, which support itself on local resources and traditional gender knowledge. Therefore, tradiction can be defined as the perfect raw material for rural innovation.
