The school appointment book is an important tool of communication between family and faculty, however, there are not previous research regarding the way they are used. Thus, the aim of this study is to identify the kind and the frequency of the communication between family and faculty. In order to do so, it was developed two rating scales that registered all the messages of the family and the faculty during the first trimester. Sample was made of 60 children of Primary Education. Data revealed that most of the teachers’ interventions are neutral, a lot of them negative and only few were conducted in a positive sense. In addition, most of the communication on the side of the family were applications or had a neutral sense, i.e. excuses. The frequency of the family-faculty communication tended to decrease in the upper grades. The conclusions of the research pointed to the need to encourage a more positive communication to increase the efficiency of the student achievement
