This study analizes social perceptions about sexual violence towards women perpetrated through new technologies. The influence of the gender and the acceptance of modern myths about sexual aggressions were studied. The sample was composed by 104 participants of both sexes. The results support the main hypotheses stated in this study. Participants blamed more the victim assaulted in a virtual situation. Participants with a greater acceptance of the myths abouts sexual aggression perceived as less gravity the sexual aggression. Finally, an interaction effect between acceptance of myths and the environment of aggression explained the perceptions of culpability of victim and aggressor. These results highlight the importance of these variables in the social perception of sexual violence through new enviroments derived from technological advances.
