A cerâmica campaniense do Monte Molião, Lagos. Os hábitos de consumo no Litoral Algarvio durante os séculos II a.C. e I a.C.

Abstract

A costa algarvia e em especial a actual cidade de Lagos foi, desde muito cedo, permeável aos contactos com as populações que habitavam o Mediterrâneo.O Monte Molião, demonstra uma longa diacronia na ocupação do espaço, constituindo um importante sítio indígena na Idade do Ferro, a partir da 1ª metade do século IV a.C. Dessa época, encontram- se no sítio, materiais provenientes da Baía de Cádis e cerâmicas gregas de verniz negro. A ocupação acentua-se com a chegada das populações romanas, que se parecem ter instalado em torno dos finais da segunda metade do século II a.C. O conjunto de cerâmica campaniense do sítio, produção característica do período romano republicano, permite-nos a observação destes ritmos de instalação a partir do estudo intensivo sobre a sua chegada e a sua presença no Monte Molião.

The Algarve coast and particularly the city of Lagos was, very early, permeable to the contacts with the Mediterranean populations. The Monte Molião demonstrates a long diachrony in the occupation of space as an important site on the Iron Age, from the 1st half of the fourth century BC. Of this period are in place materials from the Bay of Cadiz and greek pottery. The occupation was accentuated with the arrival of the Roman people who seem to have installed around the end of the second half of the second century BC. The set of the campanian ceramic, characteristic of Republican Roman period, allows us to observe the installation rhythms from the intensive study on their arrival and presence at Monte Molião.
