La investigación en malherbología en España alcanza sus mayores cotas de calidad científica

Abstract

A partir de datos obtenidos de diferentes fuentes se ha podido constatar que en nuestro país existen más grupos de investigación de malherbología (unos 20) que en cualquier otro país europeo y que la producción científica actual atesora unos índices de calidad jamás obtenidos. Los investigadores españoles han publicado en los últimos seis años más de 200 artículos en revistas de impacto y 34 de ellos en Weed Research, cifra superada solo por EEUU (39). En los últimos 25 años, cerca del 10% de los artículos publicados en esta revista son de origen español, uno de los mayores porcentajes comparado con otras revistas de sanidad vegetal (entomología, fitopatología, virología). Otros indicadores como el número de proyectos de investigación, tesis doctorales defendidas y congresos y cursos internacionales organizados ratifican esos niveles de calidad.

Based on data obtained from different sources we have reached the conclusion that Weed Science in Spain is currently in a very satisfactory position, with 20 research groups (more than in any other European country) and with an abundant scientific production of high quality. During the last six years Spanish weed scientists have published more than 200 scientific papers in high impact journals. Thirty four papers were published in the Weed Research journal; only US scientists published a higher number of papers in this journal. During the last 25 years almost 10% of the papers published in Weed Research were from Spanish authors. This ratio was higher than those observed in journals of other crop protection disciplines (entomology, phytopathology, virology). Other indices, such as the number of research projects, the number of PhD Thesis or the number of organized international meetings, support this high quality level.
