Objective: To design and validate a questionnaire without andocentric biases, to know the profile of family caregivers, their cares and institutional strategies and health implications. Methods: Construct/content validity: Literature review, expert panel. Design the questionnaire: 38 items: Caregivers, cared people, care organization, benefits, impact on health. 49 surveys (caregivers census of Sanitary-District-Sevilla-2010). Statistical analysis: SPSS. Internal consistency: Cronbach's a. - Chi-square, ANOVA (p> 0.05). Results: With respect to men most women spend their life caring, are married, with primary education, concur paid and unpaid work, adapt timetable or get unemployed, help other caregivers, get public grants later, have more health problems. Questionnaire is modified. Conclusions: The use of this tool will highlight gender health inequalities and it will contribute to progress in family and public equality.
