Abstract: Spanish and Portuguese film industries are being developed. Despite the imbalance in the annual film produc-tion between the two Iberian coun-tries, we can identify common features. This situation has occurred in parallel with a creative enrichment not only caused by some recognized Spanish and Portuguese filmmakers, but their contributions away of most economically powerful cinemas. It is especially technology that is causing deep changes and significant differ-ences between different industries. Market transformation of movie theaters has changed the traditional selective distribution of films. New distribution systems such as D-Cinema and E-Cinema have led this sector to a situation allows us to reflect on the future of photochemical imaging on large screens and the uncertain fate of the distribution sector. Thus, the digital display is no longer a future event to become a reality. The new film exhibition will benefit in reducing costs and work-force releases in theaters.
