In spite of his radical affirmation of the self, converted into the whole, Juan Ramón Jiménez strongly experienced this phenomenon of the double. Juan Ramón consciously creates a self in his poetic work with which he intends to realize his ideal self. In addition, he senses the existence within himself of other selves that arise spontaneously.
