En primer lugar, rememoramos lo que ocurrió el 27 de noviembre de 1977 en el aeropuerto tinerfeño de Los Rodeos. Para entender los motivos del accidente, es necesario hablar del movimiento nacionalista canario que existía en el momento, que será tratado como contexto histórico. Posteriormente, se hace un análisis de las portadas de los principales periódicos de tirada nacional como son ABC, El País, Pueblo, Hoja Oficial del Lunes y Diario 16. También habrá contexto histórico previo para conocer la situación del país en ese momento con la Ley de prensa e imprenta de 1966, dando a conocer brevemente también el Real Decreto-Ley 24/1977, que fue posterior al accidente. Realizar este trabajo de investigación es necesario para llegar a conocer el nivel de importancia que le daban los medios de comunicación del momento a sucesos que ocurrían fuera de la capital española. Como iremos viendo a lo largo del análisis, observaremos cómo la gran mayoría de las portadas, que no dedicaron más de tres días para hablar del accidente, daban más importancia a lo político que a cualquier otro aspecto. Esto lo podremos comprobar cuando veamos la posición que ocupan en las cubiertas los titulares sobre el accidente. Podremos ir adelantando, antes de dar las conclusiones, que la prensa capitalina daba más importancia a lo político, por el proceso de Transición Democrática, que a otros hechos que acontecían en distintas partes del país.This Final Degree Project analyzes the coverage given by the national media to the Los Rodeos plane crash in 1977. First of all, we remember what happened on November 27, 1977 at the Los Rodeos airport in Tenerife. To understand the reasons for the accident, it is necessary to talk about the Canarian nationalist movement that existed at the time, which will be treated as a historical context. Subsequently, an analysis is made of the front pages of the main national newspapers such as ABC, El País, Pueblo, Hoja Oficial del Lunes and Diario 16. There will also be previous historical context to know the situation of the country at that time with the Press and Printing Law of 1966, also briefly announcing the Royal Decree-Law 24/1977, which was after the accident. Carrying out this research work is necessary to get to know the level of importance that the media of the time gave to events that occurred outside the Spanish capital. As we will see throughout the analysis, we will observe how the vast majority of the front pages, which did not dedicate more than two days to talk about the accident, gave more importance to politics than to any other aspect. We can see this when we see the position of the headlines about the accident on the covers.
