De entre ellas, destaca por sus dimensiones y recursos estilísticos el conocido como el molino del “Cubo Alto” de Oria, sobre el que no recae, actualmente, ningún tipo de protección patrimonial. El objetivo del presente artículo consiste en generar y difundir conocimiento en torno a dicha edificación. La existencia de planimetría asociada a la reconstrucción del molino, en el año 1818, ha posibilitado establecer tanto una comparación formal como constructiva respecto al edificio actual. Este análisis permite proponer hipótesis de las variantes existentes entre el molino colapsado inicialmente, la ejecución de las obras de reconstrucción, previstas en el siglo XIX, y las realizadas finalmente. Se utilizan las herramientas de los modelos digitales para llevar a cabo el levantamiento y el análisis del molino actual.In most of the cultivated areas in the province of Almería that originated in the Middle Ages, the main production unit for growing food for the local population is the water mill. Outstanding among them, for both its size and stylistic features, is the “Cubo Alto” watermill in Oria, which currently does not have a protected heritage status. The aim of this article is to contribute new knowledge about the construction, obtained through a survey and analysis of the present-day mill using digital models. Due to the existence of plans associated with the reconstruction of the mill in 1818, we have also been able to establish formal and construction comparisons with the present mill and propose hypotheses about the collapsed mill and the execution of the planned works at the mill in the 19th century, which were not the works that were finally carried out.
