Para ello, precisaremos de conceptos de espacios curvos sobre variedades riemannianas e introduciremos el efecto gravitatorio que se produce sobre el espacio-tiempo a través de las ecuaciones de campo de Einstein. Una vez establecido el marco de trabajo, particularizaremos la teoría para describir las ondas gravitacionales, perturbaciones en el espacio-tiempo de reciente detección en centros como LIGO o Virgo.In the present article we shall study a brief introduction to the general theory of relativity, originally formulated by Albert Einstein during the early years of the XX century. To do so, we will require some knowledge about riemannian manifolds. We will then make the connection between gravity and the concept of curvature of the manifold, through the Einstein field equations.
