En un momento de transición avanzada hacia la fibra de vidrio, acceso limitado a la madera y pérdida de los oficios artesanales relacionados con la náutica, la presente investigación se propone localizar, registrar y analizar las tipologías aún construidas con materiales y técnicas tradicionales. Es decir, tanto la memoria o reminiscencias de canoas monóxilas o de base monóxila, como todas aquellas embarcaciones que han sido o son empleadas por los pescadores tasajeros, a fin de definir su morfología, analizar su funcionalidad y aproximarnos a sus prestaciones náuticas en las dos aguas, así como evaluar el valor simbólico de la canoa en el seno de esta comunidad y su precaria realidad socioeconómica.On the thin strip of land that supports the Caribbean highway (RN90), separating the Ciénaga Grande de Santa Marta and the Caribbean Sea, is located a community of artisanal fishermen, whose navigation arts have been adapted to both aqueous contexts. At a time of advanced transition towards fiberglass, limited access to wood and loss of crafts related to nautical, this research aims to locate, record and analyze the typologies still built with traditional materials and techniques.
